The night before the exam, I saw stars in the Malaysian night sky for the first time.
With an apparent magnitude of about -4, it shone exceptionally brightly against the backdrop of scattered starlight. Referencing the star chart, I recognized it as Venus, representing love and beauty.
It’s funny, three years ago when we huddled on the balcony of dormitory 2901 in the middle of the night, what we saw through the telescope was this very morning star. In my memory, it also sparkled just like this.
Three years is both too long and too short. No matter what, tomorrow will always come.
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.”
Even though I’m not superstitious about horoscopes or luck, I’m still willing to believe that this bright star, along with the constellations formed by the dimmer points of light around it, is a blessing to me.
