I kept some of the “gugugu” (onomatopoeia for cooing/muttering) so you know you’re reading Zhuge Tianyao (because it was filled on the 23rd).

My first impression of Zhejiang University was its size, followed by its “all-encompassing” nature. Compared to other universities I had visited, I cycled instead of walked at Zhejiang University (otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to see everything). When a “local” explained the functions of various buildings to me, I instantly exclaimed, “All this is just one campus?” Indeed, not all universities are created equal.

Compared to other classmates, my separation from Zhang Yicheng felt longer. Although the saying goes, “a scholar who hasn’t met for three days,” I actually felt that he hadn’t changed much—he was still the “expert” who loved to tinker with circuits and programming, and I was still the “newbie” who listened to his explanations with awe. It’s safe to say that when we met again after many years, we both seemed to have reverted to our innocent, youthful selves.

Although it was the graduate entrance exam day, I still got entry permission under the “special invitation” of a current student, haha (perhaps the number of visitors on campus was reduced to some extent because the online reservation channel was closed). After a quick tour, I also tasted the university’s food in the evening, so I didn’t miss out on the experience.

Thus, my brief stay and visits in Hangzhou have temporarily come to a comma. Looking back at the past few busy days, despite some regrets, they were filled with laughter and joy. I’m grateful to my former classmates who were willing to take time out to share a meal with me, the “legendary freeloading king.” I also look forward to sharing more of my past experiences in the future (so I guess I really should start writing the history of our high school class).

In a corner of the dormitory library, where supposedly “many unwanted books” are, I still found notebooks and exercise books in the interlayers…

And the food in the cafeteria! Delicious.
