Sidebar: It just so happens that by yesterday, “Sojourner’s Diary” had exactly 26 entries, which can be extracted using a1z26… (The mysterious obsession with 26 for decryption enthusiasts)
Today I tidied up the accumulated items here in Chengde, finding a pile of clothes and shoes. Now I can wear something different every day! Although I’ve never been keen on new clothes, in winter I always switch to my classic blue skin (but I really love that one, come on).
Compared with my own habit of sleeping and waking late, Grandpa’s ability to go to bed at five every day commands my respect. It also means that if the walk happens in the evening, there will inevitably be only three of us. I spent the whole way demanding that we go play on the ice, but never succeeded. I really wish we could get one heavy snowfall! The riverside path always brings back last year’s memories, which made me realize this diary has been around for a year already. (And has not even reached thirty entries. My vanishing skills are formidable indeed.)
All in all (what an abrupt transition), I really should help my grandparents more with chores; and also learn a few tricks from them, striving to become a royal chef when I go abroad (chuckle).
