A busy, bustling day.
For once, I finally managed to wake up early, then immediately set about packing. I stuffed everything into my checked suitcase as if solving the densest packing of cubes and successfully held it below twenty kilograms. That, too, is a technical skill.
After lunch, I was busy rushing to catch the train and then the flight. It felt like most of the day was spent on transit. Since there was no Wi-Fi on the plane, I used this time to quickly draft something—tomorrow’s speech draft! Ah, as expected of me, efficiency is always at its peak right before the deadline!
After landing, I was busy trying to hail a cab, only to discover that booking a chartered carpool (Shunfengche) was actually half the price of a direct taxi. Well, who would take a direct taxi then, right, Mom? After rushing back home, I was busy packing up again to move to another place to stay (drifting through life…). Upon sorting things out, I realized why on earth do I still have so many things? I can only bring 7 kg to Malaysia, there is no space to leave them here, and I don’t even know if I can give them away…
Writing so much feels like nothing but complaining, but there are always moments of fleeting beauty that make all this busyness feel worthwhile. Whether it was the big steamed buns made by Grandma, the sunset above the clouds (even though I could only see it through someone else’s phone screen), or the sumptuous dinner at Sister Jenny’s place, they all gave me a familiar yet foreign illusion.
I hope this can continue, but soon I’ll be setting off again. Before that, let’s do a wrap-up first.
